Rodarius Marcell Green (born on August 27, 1998) is known as Rod Wave, is an American rapper and performer. [3][4][55 Wave is known for his powerful voice and mixing R&B and hiphop [2and has been described as the first pioneer of soul-trap. The single from his 2019 album "Heart on Ice" was a big sensation via YouTube as well as TikTok. It peaked at the top 25 spot on Billboard Hot 100. Wave's debut album Ghetto Gospel (2019) peaked at number 10 in the US Billboard 200. His sophomore album, Pray 4 Love (2020), was a top 2 album on the Billboard 200,[9] and included the track "Rags2Riches" that reached the top spot at 12 on the Hot 100. His third album SoulFly (2021) was released at number one on the Billboard 200, marking his first chart-topping single. Wave's professional work began in 2016 with the launch of his mixtape Hunger Games Vol.1. Wave released several mixtapes before signing with Alamo Records. He released his mixtape PTSD on June 14 2019 and included the track "Heart on Ice". The song went viral and became a popular on YouTube and TikTok. It reached the top 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. [7] Wave's debut album, Ghetto Gospel, was released on the 1st of November 2019. It peaked at number 10 in the US Billboard 200. The 3rd of April, 2020 Rod Wave released his second album, "Pray 4 Love". It was released at the 2nd spot on the Billboard 200, with a Deluxe edition to follow on August 7. The majority of songs from the album charted in the Billboard Hot 100. "S" (featuring ATR son Son) came in at number 12 on the Hot 100. It became the song with the highest chart position. 14. On August 11 in 2020, Wave was included on the XXL's 2020 freshman class. Wave spoke out in July of 2020, revealing that he had been making his third album. This was originally planned for August 27, 2020. Two years later, he revealed the track list for the album SoulFly on March 6, 2021. [16][17] The album also includes two songs "Street Runner" and "Tombstone" the highest-charting track, which reached number 11 on the Hot 100.
