Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian (Canadian-American) is a feminist media critic, public speaker and Canadian. She founded Feminist Frequency a website that hosts videos and commentary analyzing depictions of women's roles in popular media. Anita Sarkeesian a Canadian American media critic. From an early age Sarkeesian was captivated by the issue of gender identity and feminist thinking. When she was still in school, in 2009, she created her Feminist Frequency website. The ambitious lady planned to start a web-based series on the gender roles in video games. She ended up being the victim of an online harassment campaign. Her determination was not slowed from the attack, and in fact it only reinforced her drive to become an expert on media and feminism. To honor the numerous accomplishments she's made to feminist movements, she has been the recipient of numerous awards.
