Sheryl Underwood is an American comedian, host of a TV show and actress most well-known for her role as host of The Talk, a popular talk show on daytime. The Talk. Born in Arkansas She was raised by her parents in Little Rock and Atwater. Sheryl comes from a troubled family. She spent most of her young life caring for her younger sister Frankie who was afflicted by Polio. When she was growing up, Sheryl had many problems with her mom. Sheryl asserts that in one incident her mother beat her father because he was getting too close to her. Following her college graduation Sheryl entered the military. Her interest in comedy became much more prominent. In 1989 she was the first woman to reach the top of the Miller Lite Comedy Search contest. She began her TV career in 1992 when she appeared as a frequent actor during the HBO comedy program Def Comedy Jam. In 2000, she was host of The show Oh Drama! Since 2011, she's been hosting as a co-host of The Talk, a talk show. The Talk. Additionally, she's appeared in a variety of fictional characters on series including Bulworth Nikki as well as Beauty Shop.
